Foot and Mouth DiseaseFriday 14th September, 2007
As many of you will have heard on the national news there has been an outbreak of Foot and Mouth disease confirmed in Egham this week.
There are government movement restrictions in place to try and prevent further spread of this disease.
Foot and mouth is not a diease which affects most domestic pets: dogs, cats rabbits etc are not susceptible to the disease. It is however a highly infectious disease and disasterous for farmers, their livestock and livlihoods. We would therfore ask you all to abide by the restrictions in place with regards to closed areas when walking your pets.
