Parvo virus alert !Sunday 21st September, 2008
I get a real feeling of deja-vu writing this piece as yet again we are seeing a surge in Parvo virus cases in both young and adult dogs over the last month.
This aggressive viral disease causes profuse bloody vomitting and diarrhoea and despite everything we can through at it medically it often causes fatalities.
The one thing these poor victims have in common is a lack of or lapse in there vaccination status.
It is hugely frustrating for us as vets to see the needless suffering and loss of pets for such an easily preventable disease -If your dog hasn't been vaccinated recently give the vets a call and rectify this now!!
